A Ghanaian, Felicity Asantewaa has broken the record for the most cars washed by an individual.
Ms. Asantewaa washed 60 cars in the span of eight hours.
The event took place on March 9, 2024, during a ‘car-wash-a-thon’ near the Executive Club in East Legon in Accra.

The initial record holder washed 55 cars. According to the Guinness World Records website, Felicity Asantewaa broke it by 5.

During the exercise, Felicity told Culture Joint that she was fueled by a strong commitment to empower young women in Ghana and advocate for gender equality.
“I’m not looking to compete with men, but to demonstrate that women are equally capable of pursuing various opportunities for a living,” Felicity emphasised.

She emphasized that “I want to promote Ghana’s name and empower young women by showing that car washing can be a viable profession leading to financial independence.”
