The National Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate for election 2024, John Dramani Mahama, has called on Ghanaians to vote for change in the upcoming general election.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, July 10, Mr Mahama emphasised that the time for change has come and urged citizens to "end the suffering of the nation."
"I urge you, my fellow Ghanaians, to vote John Dramani Mahama and the NDC for CHANGE to signal the need for us, all, to build the Ghana we want together.
"Building Ghana together means voting MAHAMA—your experienced, visionary, truthful and humble servant—as the next President of Ghana," he added.
The former president highlighted that a vote for the NDC administration would help reset Ghana and fix the broken economy.
He promised that an "NDC government would create decent and well-paying jobs for the youth through the 24-hour economy initiative and establish a National Women's Bank to provide financial assistance to one million women-owned businesses."
Mr Mahama also pledged to investigate and punish corrupt officials from the New Patriotic Party (NPP), scrap the COVID and E-levies, abolish ex-gratia, and reduce the size of government to a maximum of 60 ministers.
He assured Ghanaians that, with their votes, he and his running mate, Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, would restore dignity, humility, vision, and experience to the presidency.
