The newly unveiled running mate of the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) flagbearer, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, has yet again rejected the 'dumsor' label of the sporadic power outages in the country.

He insists there is no 'dumsor' as happened in the administration of former president John Mahama.

Various parts of the country have been experiencing interruptions in electricity supply which triggered calls for a load-shedding timetable.

Dr Opoku Prempeh dismissed the request and insisted there was no need for one because there was no power management.

Addressing NPP members at the Jubilee Park in Kumasi on Tuesday, July 9, where he was coronated as the NPP presidential running mate, Opoku Premper asserted that power supply disruptions under the current administration occur for maintenance purposes, unlike in the past when power was just being switched on-and-off.

"It's never true that Ghana is experiencing dumsor. There is no dumsor, it is dumsie sie," he stated.

According to him, the power outages being experienced is an improvement compared to the situation under the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government.

President Akufo-Addo earlier in his address had said the Energy Minister successfully solved the issue of erratic power supply.

According to him, those claiming that there has been a return of the 'Dumsor' canker are telling lies.

He added: "Yes, there have been a few occasions but he has done his best to ensure that power in our country was online."
