Ghana Head Coach, Otto Addo is anticipating “tough” challenges in Group F of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
The Black Stars were paired with Sudan, Angola and Niger in the draw held on July, 4, 2024 in Johannesburg, South Africa.
The top two finishers from the group secure qualification for the continental event which comes off in Morocco.
“Surely, we believe in ourselves to qualify from this group. But it’s going to be tough,” Addo told Ghanafa.org.
“To begin with Angola, I think they have a very, very good squad. I think they had a good AFCON but went out after losing1-0 to Nigeria; they did really, really well in that match, I watched it.
“Secondly, we have Sudan who are really, really doing well at the moment with Kwesi Appiah which I know personally. He is a very good coach.
“They don’t have a good record in their last five, six, seven, eight matches. I think they won one, played some draws and lost the other games. But what you can see is that, when they lost they just lost by a lone goal. So it’s going to be tough.”
The qualifiers will commence in September this year to determine the first 24 nations out of the 48 that will compete in Africa’s biggest event.
The Confederation of African Football has set December 21, 2025, as the start date for the next edition, which will run until January 18, 2026.
