Black Stars midfielder, Iddrisu Baba has signed a permanent contract with UD Almeria after spending a season-long loan with the club from fellow Spanish side RCD Mallorca.
The veteran midfielder put pen to paper to a three-year deal following the activation of an option-to-buy clause in his loan contract.
Prior to the move, Baba had played for Mallorca since his youth days, and finally made breakthrough from their reserve team at the age of 22.
During his time as a senior player for the club, Baba became a mainstay in the Mallorca midfield, helping them gain promotion to La Liga for the first time in 7 years.
In the 2021-22 season, however, he fell out of favor at Mallorca, managing just three appearances throughout the whole season.
The following campaign saw him sent out on loan to Almeria, where he made a total of 25 LaLiga appearances, starting in 14 of them.
Although Baba couldn't save the club from eventual relegation to the Segunda División, Almeria have decided to make his initial loan move permanent.
Baba made his international debut for Ghana in 2019 in a 2-0 win over South Africa, and has since racked up 29 caps.
