Residents and traders along the drains leading to the Korle Lagoon are calling for immediate dredging of the drains due to fears that any flood could result in a disaster.
These drains, described as the principal outlets for all major drainage channels in the national capital, are filled with waste, producing an awful stench and causing overflow whenever it rains.
Residents, speaking to Joy News, emphasised the need to remove the sand from the drains to allow for smooth flow.
