English Championship club, Coventry City, have announced the appointment of former Ghana Assistant Coach, George Boateng, as a first team coach.
He goes into the role alongside Rhys Carr from Wolves, where he served as Individual Development Coach.
“Coventry City are delighted to announce the appointment of George Boateng and Rhys Carr as the Club’s new first-team coaches,” the club said in a statement on Monday.
“Boateng and Carr join the Sky Blues with immediate effect as the City squad assembles for the start of pre-season training at Ryton, joining goalkeeping coach Aled Williams as part of the Club’s first-team coaching staff.”
The two will work under Coventry Manager, Manager Mark Robins.
George Boateng served as Assistant Coach of the Black Stars between May 2022 and January 2023, where he worked alongside Otto Addo at the 2022 World Cup and Chris Hughton until their sacking after the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
The 48-year-old was born in Ghana but played for The Netherlands at international level.
