The Sports Minister, Mustapha Ussif, has assured Ghanaians that his office will account for every amount spent during the 2023 African Games.
Ghana hosted the 13th edition of the continental competition back in March with the University of Ghana Stadium and Borteyman Sports Complex being the main centres for the games.
Ussif appeared before Parliament on Tuesday, June 25, to report on the aftermath of the games but his report did not capture the financial account of the competition.
The Minister explained the expenditure for the games was not included in the report because a question had been filed for him to appear before the house and account for it.
"We are not hiding anything. I want that clarity to be made. Every cedi is going to be accounted for. Be rest assured," he said.
"Rather you should congratulate team Ghana because so far we have not seen the Minority issue any statement in congratulating the sportsmen and women who fought very hard in lifting the flag of the country very high."
At the end of the games, Ghana amassed 69 medals overall, the country's most medal haul in the 59-year history of the competition.
