Have you ever seen a flatworm before? Well, if you have, then that’s the shape students of Tamale Islamic Science SHS (TISSEC) are anticipating to reduce Presbyterian Boys Secondary School to.
The 2023 Northern Zonal Champions after qualifying for the national championship say they are ready to “dorsoventrally flatten” the blue magicians.
PRESEC Legon is not only their target. The Wonder Kid of OWASS, Stephen Ampemah Baah is also on their list of schools to be eliminated as they set out to clinch their first national trophy.
The reigning Northern Zonal Championship, despite beginning their trophy defense from the regional qualifiers proved their mettle in their contest against Tatale E.P. and E.P. SHS, Saboba.
They dominated the contest from the first to the final round, snatching away bonuses from their opponents.
The school has in the past years of their participation proved to be a formidable opponent winning their regional qualifiers contests with over seventy points.
Conversely, their performance this year fell short of grandiosity as they won with 47 points.
They are qualifying with three others for the national championship to represent the Northern region in the first batch of six contests.
Northern Business School (NOBISCO) - Tamale, Yendi SHS and St. Charles Seminary SHS are joining the TISSEC.
NOBISCO after winning their contest as the highest for the day were convinced of a historic win at both the zonal and national championship.
The students hailing from the heart of the Dagomba state, Yendi SHS, are assertive in thrashing their opponents as they prepare adequately to better their performance.
The school struggled in their contest, qualifying with 21 points at their opponents, Kumbugu and Savelugu SHS placed second and third with 12 and 7 points respectively
Meanwhile, St. Charles Seminary is ready to face off against any opponent at the nationals after being kicked out at the preliminary stage in 2023.
“We had deflated tyre last year, we are coming with a spare one this time round. Tell them we are coming,” one of the students excitedly said.
