Rose Nyawuto has been handed the mantle to steer the affairs of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church (EPC)'s Mawuko Girls Senior High School.
Madam Nyawuto was appointed to serve as the 8th headmistress of E.P.C Mawuko Girls SHS after serving as the head of Dabala Senior High School between 2018 and 2023.
She earlier served as the Mawuko Assistant Headmistress, Domestic, between 2014 to 2018 and Assistant Headmistress, Administration between 2017-2018. She is also an old student of Mawuko.
Speaking at her induction ceremony, she charged educators to commit to producing well-rounded students who would contribute to the development of the world.
She urged them to nurture the students’ curiosity, sparking their creativity and unique potential to further shape them into people of substance.
Madam Nyawuto said “as we stand on the threshold of a new era, let us remember that our task as educators is not merely to produce good students but to cultivate well-rounded individuals who can contribute meaningfully to the world.
Together, let us create an environment where each student feels valued, appreciated, and inspired to reach their fullest potential”, she said.
She promised to use her expertise and experience to sustain the legacy of EPC Mawuko Girls SHS, courting the support of all stakeholders.
“I will try to create an environment that nurtures the intellectual, emotional, and social development of our students. I will ensure that the students are provided with the tools and opportunities that they need to become responsible, compassionate, and successful women of substance in society”.
She assured of her commitment to academic excellence by ensuring the students are provided an all-inclusive education that encompasses extracurricular activities, clubs, and sports to enrich their educational experience.
“I will also place a strong emphasis on character development and social responsibilities as we believe these qualities are essential for our students' future purposes”, she stressed.
Madam Nyawuto implored the students to focus on their studies and remain guided by the core values of the school as they strive to achieve their educational goals.
“In conclusion, I would like to assure you that I am committed to leading this school with integrity, compassion, and a strong sense of duty. I am excited about the opportunity that lies ahead, and I am eager to work with all stakeholders to continue the tradition of excellence that defines EPC Mawuko Girls SHS.
Together, we will create a future that is filled with hope, opportunity, and success for our students, our school, our church, and our nation Ghana”, she said.
The Volta Regional Education Director, Francis Agbemadi expressed optimism that Madam Nyawuto would lead an environment that would enable students to realize their full potential, pledging his outfit’s support.
He called for the collaboration of stakeholders towards the successful implementation of the proposed New Standard Based Curriculum to be introduced at the second cycle education level in October 2024.
He cautioned teachers to desist from acting as the mouthpiece of the Ghana Education Service and speaking to issues in the media space concerning happenings in educational facilities.
The Ho Municipal Education Director, Dr. Esther Adzo Yeboah-Adzimah entreated the management of EPC Mawuko Girls SHS to form a synergy towards achieving positive results.
“Madam Rose Nyawuto, may you lead with compassion and dedication, inspiring your children to reach their full potential. We are wishing the school a bright and successful future under your leadership. Congratulations and may the good Lord continue to bless you”, she added.
