Mfantsiman Girls’ Senior High School has made a comeback to the nationals of the National Science and Math Quiz after 6-long-years of absence. Their last appearance at the national competition was in 2017.
But at the Center for National Culture auditorium on Saturday, the ladies from Saltpond made a statement after defeating three other schools in the Central Regional Qualifiers.

The ladies took a slim lead in the first round of the contest by running 16 points ahead of Abakrampa Senior High School’s 15 points.
But they extended the lead to 29 points in the second round and went ahead to win with a comfortable 47 points.
Abakrampa SHS came second with 25 points, followed by T.I. Amass, Ekumfi with 12 points. Twifo Hemang Senior High Technical School came fourth with just 2 points.

Mfantsiman Girls are hoping to use this opportunity to restore their lost glory at the national stage of the National Science and Math Quiz. They were finalist in 2013 in a competition won by St. Thomas Aquinas Secondary School, running third to Presbyterian Boys’ Secondary School (PRESEC, Legon)
But, before that, they will be competing in the GOIL PLC Regional Championship, hoping to be crowned champions of the Central Region.
