Ga Mantse, Nii Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, has commended the Ghana Armed Forces for their role in keeping the country safe.
In a speech delivered on Friday, June 7 at Burma Camp, Accra, during his historic visit, praised the army for their professionalism, particularly during elections.
“I came here today with my chiefs, queen mothers and delegates to show my appreciation and support for the outstanding services and dedication we have received from the Ghana Army.
“As a people, we see work with integrity, diligence and your presence in this country has held this country together in strong elections that we have seen.
"The professionalism, discipline, the devotion to duty of personnel of the Ghana Army even while keeping peace outside the shores of this country,” he said while he paid a courtesy call on on Major General Bismarck Kwasi Onwona, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Ghana Army.
According to him, their hard work, determination, and integrity have earned them recognition in the United Nations.
“Peace-building operations in different parts of the world have won for the military and worldwide, acclaim for being the world’s best peacekeepers for the UN.”
The Ghana News Agency also reports that the traditional leader after the engagement, made a presentation of 50 bags of rice, 50 packs of bottled water, other consumables, including a bull and an undisclosed amount of cash to the Ghana Army Headquarters.
He also presented the COAS with a kente cloth, conferring a new chieftaincy title, Nii Tackie Tsaatse on him.
