Hasaacas Ladies won their fifth Ghana Women's Premier League title following their win over Ampem Darkoa Ladies on Saturday, June 8.

The Hasmal Ladies recorded a 2-1 victory at the University of Ghana Stadium to win the title again, their first since Malta Guinness Ghana became headline sponsors of the top flight.

Having lost the last two finals against the same opposition in the last two seasons, the Sekondi-based side were determined to end the Nana Mma dominance.

Veronica Baa Kumah opened the scoring in the game with a stunning strike from outside the penalty box to give Hasaacas the lead inside 11 minutes.

The lead was doubled three minutes later.

Fiduos Yakaubu's great cross into the far post was met by Abdulai Mukarama who made no mistake from close range to beat the goalkeeper.

Hasaacas went into the break with two goals ahead and had done enough to keep Ampem Darkoa quiet on the night so far.

The Techiman-based outfit returned from the break the better side in a half that was dominated by lots of medical attention.

Ampem Darkoa's efforts were rewarded in the 73rd minute when the league's top scorer, Ophelia Serwaa Amponsah scored to half the deficit.

Despite the late pressure on them, Hasaacas Ladies were able to see out the game and reclaim the league title from their arch-rivals for their fifth since the inception of the Women's Premier League.

They will now be looking ahead to their participation in the WAFU B Women's Champions League championship.
