The Hitz FM Rep Ur Jersey event reached its climax on Saturday, June 1, at the Aviation Social Centre, thrilling patrons both on-site and through the airwaves.
Hundreds of football fans enjoyed an exhilarating 2023/24 Champions League final viewing experience, powered by Hitz 103.9 FM and Joy Sports.
Just like the previous year, the Champions League finale almost encountered a rain interruption as a drizzle began to fall just before the match started in the evening.
However, the rain did not deter patrons from flocking to the venue. Fans in their favourite jerseys, began arriving as early as noon when the gates opened, eager to participate in the engaging activities leading up to the Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund clash.
Pre-match activities included a 5-a-side football competition, table tennis, video games, a washing competition, bottle flipping, and a football quiz competition to test the sports knowledge of the participants.
Winners of these competitions were rewarded with coveted prizes such as flat-screen televisions, headphones, Bluetooth speakers, cash prizes, and other souvenirs from sponsors.
The day's events built up to the main attraction at 7 pm, where patrons enjoyed a giant screen viewing experience of the Champions League final between Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund.
The atmosphere was electric as fans cheered and jeered at every moment of the game.
Despite Borussia Dortmund dominating the game with many chances in the first half, they were unable to break through against Madrid.
The tension and excitement were palpable as fans experienced the highs and lows of the match together.
Madrid, however, capitalized on their opportunities in the second half. A goal from Dani Carvajal in the 63rd minute and another from Vinicius Junior in the 82nd minute secured the victory, leading Los Blancos to lift the Champions League trophy.
After the football match, fans who were reluctant to leave found a perfect reason to stay as music blared from the speakers, courtesy of Hitz FM's top DJs.
The highly anticipated evening ended on a high note, leaving everyone with smiles, a sense of contentment, and the promise of even more excitement next year.
