Ghana's Joseph Commey has been eliminated from the World Qualifying Tournament in Bangkok after losing to Emilio Garcia.
The Commonwealth silver medalist was eliminated by the U.S boxer via a unanimous points decision in round 16 of the men's light welterweight contest.
Garcia is now in contention to become the first male athlete of any sport from Laredo, Texas, to qualify for the Olympics with a top-four finish at the qualifier.
Commey's exit means, of the seven Ghanaian boxers registered for the World Qualifying Tournament in Bangkok, only two; Theophilus Kpakpo Allotey and Dr. Ornella Sathoud, remain in contention for a place at the Olympic Games in Paris.
Theophilus Allotey is scheduled to face Anvarzhan Khadzhiev of Kyrgyzstan on Thursday, May 30, while Sathoud fights Aynur Rzayeva of Azerbaijan on Saturday, June 1, 2024.
The following boxers have all been eliminated from the tournament in Bangkok.

2.Henry Malm(Light Middleweight -71Kg)
3.Jonathan Tetteh(Heavyweight -92Kg)
4.Mark Kojovi Ahondjo(Super Heavyweight -92+kg)
No Ghanaian boxer has qualified for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
