Black Starlets head coach Laryea Kingston has admitted Benin gave his side a tough time in their second group game at the ongoing WAFU B U-17 Cup of Nations.
Ghana scored two first-half goals to avoid any chances of early pressure from Benin as they held their nerves to seal their second win of the tournament.
Having scored five times against Cote d'Ivoire, the game against Benin had been touted as an easy fixture.
However, Laryea was not flattered by the score claiming it was a 'difficult' game for his side.
"This game was very difficult for us. People thought it would be a walk in the park, but it wasn’t. It was a very difficult match.," said Kingston.
"We were very lucky that we saw their game against Ivory Coast. So that gave us an advantage to see what they are bringing on board. There are a lot of good teams at this tournament."
The win sends Ghana through to the semifinals of the competition with the Ivorians the other team from Group A.
The Black Starlets are chasing a return to the U-17 AFCON after last representing in 2017.
