The High Commissioner of India to Ghana, His Excellency Manish Gupta, has announced plans to expand and diversify collaborative programmes between the Government of India and Ghana's Volta Region.
These initiatives will focus on travel opportunities for education, business, and entrepreneurship, providing significant benefits to the people of the Volta Region.
H.E. Manish Gupta made these remarks during a meeting with beneficiaries of the India Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) programme held at the Residency Hall in Ho.
Expressing his gratitude for the warm reception he received, Mr Gupta emphasised his hopes to see an increase in the number of individuals from the Volta Region traveling to India for various purposes, including education and business.
He also expressed a desire for enhanced business collaborations between India and the Volta Region.
"The warm hospitality extended to me is heartening. I look forward to welcoming more people from the Volta Region to India for education, business, and entrepreneurship opportunities. Our goal is to foster deeper ties and mutual growth."
The Volta Regional Minister, Dr Archibald Yaw Letsa, pledged the full cooperation and readiness of the Volta Regional Coordinating Council (VRCC) to ensure the sustainability of this burgeoning relationship.
Dr Letsa highlighted the potential benefits such collaborations could bring to the region.
Rev. Adzah Tetteh, the Volta Regional Economic Planning Officer, expressed his gratitude for the numerous opportunities provided to VRCC staff and other assemblies to pursue courses and studies in India.
He acknowledged that many individuals from the Volta Region have already benefited from the various educational programmes offered through ITEC, with more poised to take advantage of future opportunities.
"The ITEC programme is a demand-driven, responsive initiative that addresses the specific needs of developing countries," noted Rev. Tetteh. "We are grateful for the educational and professional growth opportunities it offers to our people."
Beneficiaries of the ITEC programme were excited about the High Commissioner's visit and expressed their hope for continued and expanded opportunities in the future.
As India and the Volta Region look to strengthen their ties, the focus will remain on creating mutually beneficial partnerships that promote education, business, and entrepreneurship, paving the way for sustained development and growth.
