Rapper Kwabena Sarfo Kantanka popularly known as Amerado, has stated that participating in rap ‘beefs’ has helped in the growth of his music career.
Responding to a question in an interview on Joy Prime’s Prime Morning as to whether beefs have had a positive impact on his life, the rapper said “Yes.”
Having been involved in multiple ‘beefs’ since the beginning of his career with most rappers in the showbiz industry such as Kofi Mole, Lyrical Joe, Obibini and the founder of Ajagurajah Movement, he asserted that he had no regrets about getting involved in those ‘beefs’.
According to the ‘Kwaku Ananse’ hitmaker, all those have helped boost his music career by giving him a wider range of listeners.
“As an artist, there are no regrets. You only learn from whatever happens and I believe that one way or the other through the rap beefs made some people realize that he can do it he’s lyrically inclined.”
He added that the beefs made his social media following shoot through the roof.
“I think I also got introduced to a section of Ghanaians who love rap music. Whenever there’s ‘beefs’ there’s a higher chance of people that will hop on and listen to your music compared to when there are no excessive waves.”
Amerado further indicated that he had compared the views between his normal rap daily and those he had dropped during one of his rap beefs, saying the difference was prominent.
He has no regrets about engaging himself in such challenges and considered it a win-win situation, as it helped him discover potentials he did not realise.
The rapper entreated his colleagues to grab ‘beef’ opportunities because it aids in unleashing their hidden dexterity set one's shoulder to the wheel.
“As an artist whenever you’re involved in a competition that’s when you try to discover yourself and know that chale I need to step up my game and you step it up,” he said.
