Jurgen Klopp claims Liverpool must “throw themselves” into the Premier League after being dumped out of Europe by Atalanta.
Liverpool failed to muster another thrilling comeback despite Mohamed Salah’s early penalty and have just their remaining six league games to fight for the title.
Klopp was pleased Liverpool won by a clean sheet to end their damaging two-game losing run, but was disappointed to exit the Europa League.
“It’s mixed emotions,” said the Liverpool boss. “We’re out, but I’m happy with the game and I loved it, especially the start. We didn’t lose the tie tonight, we lost it at home.
“We would have wished that we could have gone to Dublin and the final, but that hasn’t happened.
“We now have one competition left and we will throw ourselves into that completely. We have to focus on the league and that’s exactly what we’ll do from now.
“Tonight we won the game so we’re back to winning ways. We have a few days to recover to go again against Fulham. That will be a different game, but it will be tricky.”
Liverpool are two points behind Manchester City in the race for the Premier League title.
