Ghanaian artiste, Renner has expressed her dissatisfaction about the non-inclusion of female acts in the reggae/dancehall category in the 25th Telecel Ghana Music Awards.

The reggae, dancehall and Afrobeats artiste said in an interview with Kwame Dadzie on Joy FM's Showbiz is A-Z that one of the ways of helping promote up and coming artistes is paying attention to the women.

While advising stakeholders on what to do create more support systems for up and coming artistes she said, “the media should push talented artistes in terms of promotion and also with the awards schemes, everybody who is interested in music promotion I think should push the young ones.”

“I would like to talk for women as well. Women are really downplayed in these times. Can you imagine a whole awards show and there are only four artistes in a whole reggae/dancehall in Ghana, no female artiste in there. It is not cool. At least throw in one or two women in there," she added.

According to her, there are so many women doing great things that need to be heavily supported.

Artistes nominated in the Reggae/Dancehall category of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards are Epixode, Ras Kuuku, Stonebwoy and Samini.

Renner, a Ghanaian reggae and dancehall artiste, is fluid in experimenting with other genres of music.

According to her manager, Iddriss Yussif, her management is bend on elevating her craft to a global standard.

In 2022, she had an international collaboration with Jamaican music duo, Chakademus & Pliers. They did a refix of 'Young Gyal Business'.

She also has works with Ghanaian artistes such as Konkarah Jahvybz, Wakayna, Eye Judah, among others.

Last year, Renner, managed RNY Music which is led by Iddriss Yussif, released a 3-piece EP titled 'Never Stop Try'.
