The founder of the Sheikh Sharubutu Ramadan Cup, Tamimu Issah, has urged competing teams to make use of young talents in this year's competition.
According to him, the platform could serve as an opportunity for players to be scouted and approached by teams if they play well.
32 teams are expected to compete in the ninth edition of the Ramadan Cup which is scheduled for April 20 and 21 at the Fadama AstroTurf.
Tamimu has asked the teams to prioritise giving opportunities to younger players to help them make it at the professional level.
"I want to use this opportunity to appeal once again to the reps that this is a national platform to unearth talent and give players the opportunity to be spotted," he said during the press launch of the event.
"A lot of football and agents come around but if you represent your communities with old players then it defeats the purpose of this competition.
"I want to make this special appeal, try as much as possible to bring young players, players who have future, players when spotted they can go somewhere."
The competition has new entrants including Teshie Zongo, Akweteyman and Tuba.
Mamobi are the current holders of the title after defeating Darkuman last year.
