Soft drinks manufacturer, Twellium Industrial Company Limited which produces Verna mineral water and other assorted beverages, at the weekend donated quantities of its products and hot meals worth hundreds of Ghana cedis to members of the Muslim community at Shukura, a suburb of Dansoman in Accra.
The programme which took place at the Shukura main mosque saw over 300 members including children eating Iftar after the fast.
The gesture forms part of the company’s corporate social responsibility.
Speaking after the programme, the company’s Head of Marketing, Events and Projects Mustapha Anass said the holy month of Ramadan is full of blessings as Muslims observe it with fasting.
He said the company deemed it essential to provide some products, food, water and non-alcoholic beverages to support them to break their fast.
Mr Mustapha Anass said Twellium Industries Company through its charity organ, Twellium Foundation embarks on various humanitarian activities that are in line with its corporate social responsibility.
According to him, this month alone the company has provided Iftar for thousands of Muslims, adding that Twellium is still embarking on a great journey to people that need to survive through these times of hardship and people who find it very difficult to provide one square meal for their family.
He therefore advised the Muslim youths not to engage in wild celebration that will affect the beauty and relevance of the occasion.
He also used the occasion to appeal to Muslims across the country to pray for the nation for peaceful election.
