The National Youth Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), George Opare Addo, has exuded confidence in the party's flagbearer, John Mahama, ahead of the December 2024 general elections.
According to Mr. Opare Addo, the prevailing sentiment among Ghanaians signals a resounding victory for Mr. Mahama and the NDC.
During an appearance on Asempa FM's Ekosii Sen on Tuesday, April 2, Mr Opare Addo forecasted that Mr Mahama would secure no less than 54% of the total valid votes cast.
However, he underscored that achieving this outcome hinges on the party's diligence in ensuring every ballot is accurately counted.
“I am very comfortable and certain that come what may if Jesus doesn’t return by the 7th of December, I can tell you by the 8th or 9th that if we do our work right, before even they count the ballot, through the exit polls we should be able to predict what president Mahama is going home with."
“Per our analysis, nothing less than 54% is what John Mahama is going to get to win the election,” he predicted.
He further elaborated that his confidence is rooted in the party's meticulous groundwork and voter engagement initiatives.
Mr Opare Addo outlined that the NDC's campaign approach will be unparalleled, focusing on personalised interactions with each voter.
However, he cautioned against complacency within the party, urging members to remain motivated and redouble their efforts to ensure victory is attained.
"We know the work we are coming to do and that work we have done so far and what we have in motion. So, we are very comfortable and confident about that.
“We will not also let complacency set in. We will leave no stone unturned, right from the polling station, before and after the exercise to make sure that the right things are done,” he added.
