The Tamale District Court in the Northern Region has ordered the detention of four individuals in connection with the tragic killing of Abbas Baba Barnabas, affectionately known as Biggie, a prominent soya bean trader in the area.
Barnabas, aged 39 and a resident of Tamale, met his untimely demise at the hands of a gang while on his way to Gushegu to procure soya beans.

Reportedly, the primary perpetrator behind the attack, identified as Baba Abuba, who was purportedly Barnabas's business partner, orchestrated the assault initially as an attempted robbery.
Tragically, the situation escalated, resulting in Barnabas's death. He was carrying an amount exceeding GH¢350k at the time.
The court arraigned the four accused individuals, namely Baba Abuba, Mayiuba Mayiubor, Wunbei Abu, and James Adam, on Wednesday, March 27.
They face charges of conspiracy to commit murder, murder, and robbery under Section 46 of the Criminal and Other Offences Act 1980, Act 29.
The accused have been remanded into police custody and are set to appear in court again on April 11, 2024.
