Members of the Locked-up Investment Holders Forum have begun their protest to demand payment of their funds.
The group began engaging with the Bank of Ghana a year ago to help them redeem their investments from the Financial Houses and Savings and Loans companies.
However, the group is protesting today because they claim the central bank has not demonstrated enough effort in resolving the matter.
They have taken over the streets of Accra hoisting placards with inscriptions of their plight on Wednesday, March 27, 2024.
The convener of the group, Dr. Adu Anane Antwi, says they want the BoG to take over these financial institutions and pay the customers their investments.
The protest ended at the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park.
The police said they could not go to the Bank of Ghana.
Meanwhile, some selected members of the group have moved to meet the BoG Governor to possibly present their petition.
They intend to later meet the Finance Minister with hopes of getting their concerns addressed.
