Evans Osei Wusu scored a brace on matchday 23 of the Ghana Premier League to extend Samartex FC's lead at the top of the table.
The former Ghana youth international scored twice against Hearts of Oak at the Nsenkyire Sports Complex to end the latter's unbeaten record.
Osei Wusu scored the opening goal in the 25th minute when Francis Gyetuah won the ball off Liventius Arthur in the penalty area and sent a cross that he met with his head, beating Richard Attah.
In the 77th minute, Hamza Issah scored a rebound from close range to equalise for the Phobians their first of the game having created loads of opportunities.
Aboubakar Outtara's team, on the other hand, couldn't hold on for long, as Osei Owusu took advantage of a long pass into his path from his defence to smash the ball past Richard Attah for the win.
The victory adds to FC Samartex's lead in the Ghana Premier League standings, but Hearts of Oak fear falling behind if Asante Kotoko defeats Nations FC on Sunday night.
Hearts had been in incredible form since the Ivorian took over as head coach, losing none of the five games he had played until the defeat to Samartex.
