Shareholders of MTN Ghana have approved a final dividend payout of 17. 5 pesewas per share to shareholders.
This brings the total dividend in 2023 to 22.5 pesewas per share.
The final dividend will be paid on the April 12, 2024.
Speaking at the company’s Annual General Meeting, Board Chairman of MTN Ghana, Ishmael Yamson, said MTN Ghana’s performance is a result of proactive measures aimed at controlling costs, maintaining profitability and ensuring business growth.
“MTN Ghana’s financial report for 2023 shows a robust performance with a strong total revenue growth of 34.6% compared to the previous year. The growth was achieved through targeted business strategies that led to an increase in voice, data, and mobile money revenues”.
The Chief Executive Officer of MTN Ghana, Selorm Adadevoh, speaking at the AGM enumerated MTN Ghana’s commitment to driving growth and unlocking value for all stakeholders through its Ambition 2025 Strategy.
He said, “Despite the challenging economic outlook, our unwavering focus is to create value for all stakeholders and drive growth by investing efficiently in infrastructure, improving the quality of connectivity and launching new innovations and product enhancement for our customers”.
MTN Ghana also recorded a decrease in its subscriber base by 6.3% to 26.8 million because it blocked 5.4 million SIM cards that were not registered with the Ghana card as of May 31, 2023.
Only 0.6 million SIMs of the blocked cohort have been re-registered.
