Veteran Nigerian actor Amaechi Muonagor is pleading for financial assistance from the general public to fund his medical expenses.
The actor who is down with a kidney disease is seeking to travel to India for a transplant.
In a video shared on social media, Amaechi Muonagor was seen unwell lying on a bed with a colleague actor Kingsley Orji seated next to him.
Kingsley Orji appealed for financial support on behalf of the ailing actor explaining that Mr Muonagor is unable to speak for himself after his illness affected his speech.
He revealed that Amaechi Muonagor was sent home from the hospital after they failed to pay his medical bills.
“He was responding to treatment but not very well. We decided to bring him home because there was no money but it is not advisable. He barely talks well. Please, he needs your help," Kingsley Orji said.
He added "It has not been easy. He has been in this condition for months now. He wants to go for a kidney transplant. What we want is for you to help us for him to travel to India."
This comes four months after Amaechi Muonagor disclosed that he has been grappling with the effects of a stroke for nearly a year.

He said on the fateful day when the stroke struck him, he had wrapped up filming on a movie set and was preparing to enter his car.
Since that day, Mr Muonagor said he has endured an arduous journey of recovery, spending months within the confines of a hospital to regain his health.
Muonagor's health issues, and the death of Mr Ibu earlier this month, highlight a huge problem facing Nollywood actors and their healthcare.
As they are paid on a film-by-film basis many are not part of a health insurance scheme or able to make regular payments. Although the Actors Guild of Nigeria says it has been able to get an insurance company to cover the industry, not all performers have signed up.
Mr Muonagor is known for his roles in films like 2 Rats, Aki Na Ukwa, Meet The In-Laws, Ukwa, The Last Burial, Police Recruit, Karishika and others.
