The Finance Minister, Dr Mohammed Amin Adam, has expressed deep sorrow over the untimely passing of his colleague, friend, and brother, Dr John Ampontuah Kumah.

In a statement issued on Thursday, Dr Adam described his deputy's death as a significant loss that has left a profound void within the Ministry of Finance.

Dr Adam paid tribute to the late Ejisu MP's exceptional dedication and unwavering commitment to the principles of fiscal responsibility, economic empowerment for the youth, entrepreneurship, and public service.

He touched on Dr Kumah's passion for uplifting the youth and his tireless efforts to contribute to the nation's economic development, traits that were visible to all who had the privilege of working alongside him.

"He was a valued and cherished colleague whose humility, selflessness, and kind and gentle nature, left a deep impression and endeared him to all," he eulogised.

Dr Mohammed Amin Adam extended heartfelt condolences on behalf of the Ministry of Finance to Dr Kumah's wife, children, extended family, friends, colleagues, and the people of the Ejisu constituency.

Dr Kumah's legacy of selfless service and dedication to the people of Ejisu, exemplary leadership within the Ministry of Finance, and steadfast commitment to the economic development of the nation were highlighted by the Finance Minister.

He emphasised that these qualities would stand as an enduring memorial to Dr Kumah's name.

"Rest well, my Honourable brother. We will miss you," portions of his statement read.

Tributes from colleague politicians have been circulating since the news of Dr Kumah's passing was reported.

He is reported to have died after a short illness and is survived by his wife, Apostle Mrs. Lilian Kumah, and six children.
