President Akufo-Addo says he is proud of his achievements over the last seven years serving as leader of Ghana.
According to him, despite the economic and social challenges compounded by covid-19, his administration had lived up to the expectations of Ghanaians.
Addressing a gathering of the Diplomatic Corps in Peduase on March 4, the head of state stressed that there were records to back his claim, adding that his government’s achievements cut across various sectors.
“In all modesty, I am exceeding proud of my record in office and the considerable achievements that have been recorded in all sectors of national life these last seven years. Several of which have been very difficult as a result of global development.
"Whether is it man's note of the national economy, in education, health care, roads development, railways development, digitalisation, infrastructural development in general, agricultural and industrial transformation, the protection of Ghana’s territorial integrity and security.
The fight against corruption, the battle against environmental degradation, the response to the covid 19 pandemic entrenching the tenets of good governance and the rule of law. Contributing to the attainment of regional and continental integration and unity.
"Being at the forefront of the growing demand for the reform of global governance institutions or upholding respect for international laws and multilateralism, the record is there for all to see," he said.
In light of this, the President expressed his optimism that he has excelled in his role as President
“I can say in all good conscience that I have not betrayed the mandate, the good people of Ghana conferred on me,” he added.
