Juventus midfielder, Paul Pogba, has been banned from football for four years due to doping.
Pogba's positive test was announced back in September 2023, after an exam that was carried out during Juventus' game at Udinese a month earlier.
The France international did not play in the Serie A match but was on Juve's bench.
The midfielder asked for counter-analysis to be made on his positive doping test but those results also returned positive.
Anti-doping prosecutors in Italy requested a maximum four-year ban for Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba after the World Cup winner tested positive for testosterone.
The former Manchester United midfielder opted not to make a plea bargain with Italy's anti-doping agency, meaning the case will be tried before the country's anti-doping court.
At the age of 30, the four-year ban effectively ends Pogba's career, but the sentence can still be appealed.
It was initially suggested that the midfielder use the lack of intentionality in the actions as a defence and there is a chance that the appeal could yet change things.
Pogba has not featured for Juventus since the announcement of his positive test was made back in September.
