The Tema Oil Refinery Thursday began dispensing fuel to oil tankers for onward distribution to pump stations and says a shortage that hit southern Ghana must ease by close of day.
The last few days have seen long queues of vehicles at fuel stations.
The Acting Chief Executive of the National Petroleum Authority, Alex Mould, has told Joy Business the situation should begin to normalise in the immediate.
He said the country secured over 40m litres from two supply vessels and this must be enough for the next 10-14 days.
The country also expects more fuel over the coming weekend and that there should be “no cause for alarm”.
The NPA boss also urged consumers to desist from panic buying, maintaining that the country has enough supply.
“I think we should have enough products all over the country,” he indicated.
