Ghanaian vocalist, Kurl Songx says he takes time to listen to his old songs.
This, he says, helps him to critique himself.
In an interview with Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz, the singer said times and seasons change, thus listening to his old songs helps him correct certain mistakes and flaws.
“For me, I like to listen to them and also make corrections when it comes to what I am doing. Mostly, I listen to my old songs so it gives me a view of what I’m up to now. That is the main reason and I enjoy them as well”.
“As humans we grow, so songs that I made some time back, maybe if I am approaching it today, I will approach it differently. It could be even the singing or the writing, it depends on the song, and they all come into play,” he explained.
He further stated that he does not follow current trends although they might help promote his music.
“I choose to be different, and that’s because it’s like everyone is going in this direction, though it would take some time, I choose to be different, so I don’t follow the same line,” he added.
Kurl Songx also expressed confidence in himself and his music.
“I know it will take time, but because I am doing good music, and I am not following trends, I know one day, they (the people) will get to understand me,” he said.
He further admonished individuals to exercise patience in their line of work.
“Sometimes, you will want to be in people's faces but I believe when you are following a good cause, it all takes time. Not every success is a scam and that’s what I believe in,” he concluded.
