An independent presidential candidate in the upcoming 2024 elections, Dr Sam Ankrah, has voiced his concerns about the economic management of both the NPP and NDC.
With a focus on practical and pragmatic solutions, Dr Ankrah presents an alternative vision for an Affordable Ghana.
In his thought-provoking statement, Dr Ankrah questions the rationale behind granting another chance to a government that has surrendered control of the nation’s fiscal and monetary system to the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
He highlights the fact that both the NDC and NPP have demonstrated their inability to effectively manage the country’s economy, leading to multiple instances of seeking assistance from the IMF.
Dr Ankrah emphasises the need to shift towards an independent-minded leader like himself, who possesses the economic prowess to turn things around for Ghana.
He questions the intentions of the NDC and NPP, asking what they have to offer the nation and why they seek another chance.
He points out that both John Mahama and Dr Mahamudu Bawumia have shown their reliance on the IMF, thereby raising doubts about their ability to manage the economy independently.
Expressing his astonishment, Dr Ankrah notes that intelligent and perceptive individuals continue to endorse the NDC and NPP despite their track record.
He questions whether Ghanaians have become disillusioned, believing that only a select few possess the intellect capable of ruling the nation.
Alternatively, he suggests that the citizens may simply be blind to the appropriate resources necessary for effective governance.
In response to these concerns, Dr Ankrah presents his Affordable Ghana contract (Manifesto), which focuses on ten pillars to make life more bearable for the people of Ghana.
These pillars include affordable housing, healthcare, education, food, fuel, transportation, a business-friendly environment, a vigorous fight against corruption, sound economic policies, sustainable job creation, and efficient government machinery.
Dr Ankrah urges Ghanaians to embrace this alternative vision and join hands to build an Affordable Ghana.
He emphasises that economic prosperity cannot be achieved through miracles, philosophy, or rhetoric but through practical and pragmatic solutions.
As the 2024 elections approach, Dr Sam Ankrah’s advocacy for an Affordable Ghana serves as a call to action for voters to consider a fresh approach to governance.
The future of the nation lies in the hands of its citizens, who must carefully analyze the circumstances and dedicate themselves to the course of change.
