Ghanaian musician Kelvin Brown, popularly known as Kelvyn Boy, has disclosed in a recent post on X that he no longer smokes.
The highlife and afrobeats artiste, who has received a lot of flak for smoking in his live videos, made the statement while addressing some misconceptions about smoking.
In his post, he noted that contrary to the notion that people who smoke are dirty, some of the wealthiest and cleanest individuals he knows are into the act.
Indicating that he has stopped smoking, he also cautioned his followers against the use of drugs.
“Misconception: Smokers are dirty and rowdy…maybe then but I know some of the richest and cleanest of humans who are heavy smokers Dead that thought today.
Dead that thought today . Your favorite artiste smokes for crying out loud. But I’ve quit. Don’t do drugs guys" he wrote.
Drug use and abuse is prevalent in the showbiz industry. While some have spoken against the dire consequences of the practice, others believe that its effects differ from one individual to the other.
Some drugs that are commonly abused among the Ghanaian youth, particularly those in the entertainment industry are marijuana, shisha, alcohol, cocaine among others.
Some Ghanaian musicians who suffered the scourge of drug addiction are Lord Kenya, Okomfuor Kwadee, the late OJ Blaq, Nasty of Lifeline Family fame, and Kiki Gyan.
