Ghana forward Andre Ayew has expressed his excitement after scoring a brace for Le Havre in their league game over the weekend.
The Black Stars captain scored twice on his return to club football as Le Havre fought back to claim a point against Lorient on Sunday afternoon.
Ayew came off the bench to make a difference for his side in the game as they maintained their spot on the league table.
The goals were the forward's first in the French league after last doing so almost nine years ago while he played for Madrid.
Speaking after the thrilling draw, the Ghanaian said: "It’s pleasing to score again in the Ligue 1. I had been waiting for that moment since I came back."
Ayew also thank the club for their patience after struggling in his early days following his arrival as a free agent.
"I played a few matches and then there was the AFCON and I also had a small injury that affected how I wanted to get along," he added.
"I thank the team for taking their time with me and giving me a run of matches before the AFCON.
"I came back on Saturday and today, I scored these goals that gave us a point."
Ayew will look to continue this run after opening his scoring account at the club.
