The former Secretary of the Inter-Ministerial Committee Against Illegal Mining (IMCIM), Charles Bissue, will contest for the Essikando-Ketan Constituency parliamentary seat in the 2024 general elections on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He won the parliamentary primary for the constituency with 333 votes.
He beat Anna Meizah, who got 234 votes and Giovanni Agyemang who had 199 votes.
Charles Bissue is taking over the candidacy from Joe Ghartey, the incumbent MP who has decided not to contest again after serving for years.
Mr Ghartey was first voted to the position in 2004 when the constituency was carved out from the larger Sekondi constituency.
