Private legal practitioner Martin Kpebu, has advised the head of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), Commissioner of Police (CoP), Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah to act swiftly in the case involving former Sanitation Minister, Cecilia Dapaah.
According to him, CoP Addo-Danquah should have already distributed letters to banks indicating that they have taken over the accounts and therefore frozen them.
He believes any delay from EOCO will leave room for funds to be transferred to untraceable accounts.
Speaking on Newsfile on JoyNews on Saturday, January 27, he said “Madam Tiwaa, she and her men have to be present at the time Mr Agyebeng or his subordinates are handing over the $500,000 cash and the GH₵2 million [plus]. They have to be present and then they take it.
“If not, if she takes it and dissipates it, no, no, no, we will not forgive Madam Tiwaa.”
His comments come after the Office of the Special Prosecutor officially handed over the Cecilia Dapaah case to EOCO, citing money-launching schemes.

The legal practitioner explained that there have been previous instances where the EOCO boss had toed the political line rather than acted neutral as a security agency.
Martin Kpebu, referencing concerns of social media users, said, “Her track record in the past has not been good. She has sought to protect Akufo-Addo, so this time she has to get it right.
“This is her make-or-break case because they[ social media users] have recited the A Plus tape. The tape is out there in public when she was begging A Plus not to press the case against Asenso and Samuel Jinapor.
“So, Maame Tiwaa don't try. Akufo-Addo has been shown to be corrupt if you try to do this one, you are finished. The A Plus tape is there. People will start playing it where she was begging.
"You remember the case of Takoradi girls and then there is a case of Serwaa Broni, so three cases against you, Maame Tiwaa."
The legal practitioner advised Madam Tiwaa to take a stance by doing the right thing.
