Delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Assin South Constituency gathered on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, to endorse their Member of Parliament (MP), Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, as the party's Parliamentary Candidate through popular acclamation.
Over 650 delegates participated in the special delegates conference, where Rev. Ntim Fordjour's candidature was approved without contest after successfully passing the vetting process.
Supervised by the District Electoral Commissioner, the exercise was also observed by the Regional and Constituency Executives of the NPP.
In expressing his gratitude during the conference, Rev. Ntim Fordjour thanked the delegates for their renewed confidence in him.
He pledged his unwavering commitment to represent their interests diligently and urged the delegates to actively engage in community-level efforts to secure victory for the NPP in the upcoming 2024 general elections, ensuring the continuation of President Akufo-Addo's positive initiatives.
This marks the third occasion that John Ntim Fordjour has been elected as the NPP's Parliamentary Candidate for Assin South, and the second time through popular acclamation.
His initial victory came in the 2015 primaries, where he competed against five others. Subsequently, following his successful representation in Parliament and the 2016 general elections, he was again confirmed by popular acclamation in 2020 to contest as the party's candidate in the Assin South Constituency.
