Former Togo international Emmanuel Adebayor has questioned the Black Stars' attitude to the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (2023) claiming the players were only there for fun.
Ghana suffered another group-stage exit at a major tournament after the same experience during the 2021 AFCON and the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Ghana failed to win a game in Ivory Coast as they amassed just two points from a possible nine leaving them in third position in a group with Cape Verde, Egypt and Mozambique.
Following the end of the final group game against Mozambique, where the team blew away a two-goal lead in the final minutes of the game, Adebayor, who was co-commentating on the game ripped into the Ghana team.
"I am not surprised [by the results]. I am rather disappointed. Coming into this game, they knew they had destiny in their own hand, they knew they had to win, and they knew this was a key game for the country," he said.

"The way they played is just unbelievable. They played with no hunger, no motivation and no communication. They played as if they were just here for fun which for me is completely wrong."
The Black Stars were hoping they could finish as one of the best third-placed teams and book a place in the knockout stages.
However, Cameroon's win over Gambia officially meant Ghana exited the competition at the stage they did in the last edition of the continental showpiece.
Chris Hughton has been relieved of his duties as head coach of the team with the technical team also dissolved.
