Former Trade Minister during the National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration, Dr. Ekwow Spio-Garbrah, expresses his willingness and readiness to become the running mate for the party's flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, in the upcoming 2024 elections.
Dr. Spio-Garbrah emphasized that his experience and competence would bring value to the NDC's ticket, aiming for victory in the elections.
In an interview on Accra-based TV3 on Monday, January 22, Dr. Spio-Garbrah affirms his eagerness to serve if called upon by Mr. Mahama.
“I am also capable; I am also ready. So it is a matter of his choice. If he chooses me, we all hear about it. I have made myself known and available to lead our party and to lead Ghana, and I’m still here in Ghana,” he said.
Mr. Mahama, vying for re-election in 2023, announced that he will announce his running mate in February 2024.
In 2020, Prof Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang was chosen as the running mate for the former president.
