On Friday evening, the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta announced that Ghana will receive the second tranche of the $3 billion International Monetary Fund Extended Credit Facility (ECF).
This comes after the credit facility endorsed the first review of Ghana’s IMF programme. At a press conference, Mr Ofri-Atta noted that the approval unlocked a $600 million disbursement from the IMF.
Also, the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, earlier this week petitioned the Electoral Commission to amend the December 7 general election day. This, the church said, is because the date falls on a Saturday, which will conflict with the Sabbath, a holy day dedicated to the worship of God.
The Office of the Special Prosecutor has started investigations into the contentious contract between Strategic Mobilisation Ghana Limited (SML) and the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA).
The focus of the probe is on potential procurement breaches and allegations of corruption and corruption-related activities.
Today on Newsfile, the host Samson Lardi Anyenini and the host will delve into the above issues.
