Ghana duo Alexander Djiku and Denis Odoi have questioned the team's aggressiveness in the defeat to Cape Verde on Sunday evening.
The Black Stars suffered an opening game defeat against the Blue Sharks in Abidjan in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations with Gary Rodrigues coming from the bench to score a late winner.
Chris Hughton's men were far from their very best on the night with Cape Verde taking advantage of Ghana's sloppiness throughout the game.
Speaking after the game, Djiku, who scored Ghana's goal in the 2-1 loss questioned the team's attitude.
"We need to do more. We need to be more aggressive. We need to create more chances and we have to score also," Djiku told the media.
"We have the second game, and we have to win. It is a tough game, but nothing is impossible. They drew their first game, and we lost, so anything can happen," he added.
His comments were backed by his teammate Odoi, who made his AFCON debut against the Blue Sharks.
"In the first half, the lines were too far apart. They could always find the guy in between the lines," he added.
"We need to be more aggressive in our press as a group, as a whole and further away from our goal."
Ghana will face Egypt in their next game on January 18 looking to bounce back from the loss.
