The Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, visited Chef Abdul-Razak Failatu in Tamale to show his support for her quest to break the Guinness World Records for cook-a-thon attempt.
Dr Bawumia, upon arrival at the Modern City Hotel, entered the cooking space of Chef Faila to interact with her.
The chef who seemed awed by the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) flagbearer for the 2024 general elections, could not help but intermittently bow to show her reverence as he spoke with her.
Although it is not clear what he said, her face lit up with smiles at his words.
Dr Bawumia was accompanied by the Northern Regional Minister Shani Alhassan Saibu, former NPP flagbearer aspirant Kwabena Agyapong and other NPP stalwarts.
Speaking to the media, the Vice President said the attempt by both Chef Faila and event organiser Afua Asantewaa has put Ghana on the map and proves that it is possible to accomplish anything one sets their mind to.
“When I say it is possible, it means it is possible for us to be the best. It is possible to beat the best in the world. That mindset is what Ghanaians need. That possibility mindset and what Afua did in the sing-a-thon, showed that it was possible to be the best in the world.
"What Faila is also doing here is showing that it is possible to break the world record and we are here to support her so that she does it and we all going to be very happy when she does it,” he said.
On January 1, 2023, the Vice President donated an amount of GH₵30,000 to the Chef.
