The National Youth Authority (NYA) says the newly refurbished Koforidua Youth Resource Center will be managed by a third party to ensure its sustainability.
According to the Authority's CEO, Pius Hadzide, outsourcing the management of the facility is the best move for the Center.
“To ensure sustainability, the governing board of the National Youth Authority has to leverage the services of a third party, utility managers to oversee the regular and proper maintenance and usage of the facilities.
“There’s no debate about the fact that this facility allows us to experience the benefits of a world class academic, sporting and religious facilities.
“It will excite and spur our young people and active minds to create,” he stressed.
The 5,000 capacity multipurpose sports centre which was commissioned by President Akufo-Addo on Wednesday, 27th December, is part of some ten youth resource centers being built across the country.
Every facility will be equipped with a FIFA-standard football pitch, a nine-lane athletic track, and adaptable courts for tennis, basketball, handball, and volleyball.
The facilities will also boast of a modern gymnasium, counselling centre, IT hub, entrepreneurship centre, and a contemporary restaurant.
