Leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, has expressed his utmost displeasure at the slow pace of work on the Flower Pot Junction flyover.
For years, the area has remain notorious for its standstill traffic jams.
To ease the situation, the government had opted to construct a flyover across the motorway to ensure the free flow of vehicular traffic.
However, despite the availability of secured funding for the project, the development has been at a snail’s pace, and the presence of construction equipment at the intersection has worsened an already terrible situation.
Taking to his Facebook, Mr. Otchere-Darko stressed that, “If a road contractor deserves to be lashed, then it is the one building the Flower Pot Junction flyover."
This, according to him, is because "They work as if it is a part-time charity job even though there’s secured funding for the project."
When the project is completed, the flyover will connect Spintex to East Legon avoiding the gridlock with vehicles coming from Tema towards Accra and vice versa.
