Accra Technical University defeated rivals University of Ghana in the final of the African Basket Festival at the Bukom Boxing Arena by a score of 28-27.
The tournament, which is part of events in the "Beyond The Return" initiative by the Ghana Tourism Authority, also had Togo, Nigeria, Liberia, France, USA and Senegal participating.
The much-anticipated battle between University of Ghana and Accra Technical University lived up to expectations with both teams thrilling fans at the Bukom Arena with exciting basketball skills.
Despite UG having the upper hand in recent meetings between the two, ATU who were out to redeem themselves managed to do just that on the night.
After four sets of drama and end-to-end action, ATU walked home with the bragging rights defeating their counterparts by a score of 28-27.
The night was also adorned with some musical performances by Kobi Rana, Krymi and a host of exciting young talents in the country. Upcoming rappers also had the chance to showcase their craft via a lyrical battle.
Some of the finest fashion designers in the country also had the opportunity to display their creative works.
There was also a slum dunk showdown where fans were treated with jaw-dropping slum dunks and three-point shootouts by some of the skilled athletes in the game.
The African Basketball Festival is a lifestyle concept that merges the world of sports, music and fashion into one single spectacular event.
The fourth edition will take place next year 2024.
