Okyeame Kwame has gathered some 'soldiers' of the hiplife movement and other brilliant Ghanaian musicians for the fourth edition of his Hiplife Party.
The party slated for December 25, 2023 will be held at the +233 Jazz Bar and Grill in Accra.
The 4th Hiplife Party features Root I, Wutah Afriyie, Skrewfaze, Abochi, Abiana, Kwabena Kwabena, Crazy Keys and Souly Bird.
DJs on the bill are DJ Kaxro and Andy Dosty.
According to Okyeame Kwame the Hiplife Party is an initiative to help protect and preserve the hiplife genre' a music type which gained prominence in Ghana in the mid 90s.
Hiplife, since its inception has birthed a lot of musicians who have had blossoming careers. However, the past few years has recorded a seeming nosedive of the genre. A lot of the younger generation of rappers are either calling their songs hip hop or drill.
That notwithstanding, the 'Rap Dactar' explains that the Hiplife Party is one of the measures to to keep the game alive.
The event has in the past features great hiplife artistes such as Akatayie, Chicago, Kwaw Kese, Abrewa Nana, Tinny, among others.
