In a heartwarming display of community commitment, Genser Energy has extended a helping hand by donating 12,000 litres of fuel and equipment assistance valued at GHȼ160,000 towards the rehabilitation of the worn-out Bogoso-Prestea road.
The Bogoso-Prestea road, used often by heavy-duty vehicles, faced a dire need for rehabilitation.
Responding to the impassioned plea from the Prestea Himan Traditional Council and the Prestea Huni Valley Municipal Assembly (PHVMA), Genser Energy has risen to the occasion, illustrating a commendable dedication to the prosperity of the community it calls home.
During a brief ceremony marking the handover of fuel to the contractor, Issah Mohammed, representing Genser Energy, said, "As a community member ourselves through our Gas Conditioning Plant operations, we recognise the positive impact this rehabilitation project will have in the short to long-term."
Located in Prestea and under the watchful eye of the Prestea Himan Traditional Council, the Gas Conditioning Plant Project has consistently adhered to best business practices.
Genser Energy has collaboratively worked with the traditional council, addressing land-related concerns and ensuring equitable compensation for farmers. The company has actively engaged the community in various development projects, showcasing a commitment to sustainable growth.
Nana Nteboah Prah IV, the Chief of Himan Stool, praised the timely intervention, emphasising that the dilapidated road network had long hindered economic and social activities.
"We are grateful for Genser Energy's support, which will undoubtedly go a long way in improving livelihoods and community well-being," he declared.
Representatives from the Prestea Himan Traditional Council, Prestea Huni-Valley Municipal Assembly, New Prestea Movement advocacy group, and LOCUMS association of local contractors were present to receive the donation, collectively embodying a united front for positive change in the community.
