The vibrant city of Accra is set to host the much-anticipated Accra Art Week 2023, a celebration of artistic expression, cultural diversity, and community engagement.
The week-long art extravaganza, scheduled to take place from December 20 -23, promises to be a captivating showcase of local and international talent, fostering a dynamic platform for artists to connect with the public.
Themed “Art from Accra is borderless”, this year’s edition aims to highlight the rich tapestry of artistic expression, emphasising the diverse perspectives and talents that contribute to Accra’s arts and culture scene.
It is expected to host talented artists, art enthusiasts, and creative minds from Accra and beyond.
Art lovers and visitors will be guided through the city’s most creative spaces via a series of exhibitions, pop-ups, and performances; showcasing the work of established and emerging artists of Ghanaian and African art & design.
This combines with a dynamic programme of talks, workshops, art auctions, film screenings, and tours.
“Our primary mission of AAW is to galvanize support for the creative sector locally and to reinforce Accra’s position as a leading arts destination in Africa and the world at large.
AWW 2023 offers patrons the chance to explore various art exhibitions, engage artists, participate in interactive workshops, and even purchase exceptional artworks to add to your collection,” said Edwin Otta, Founder of AWW.

In its 6th year, Accra Art Week is an annual celebration of the arts in Accra, Ghana, dedicated to showcasing and promoting local and international artistic talent.
The event aims to foster a deeper appreciation for the arts, encourage cultural exchange, and create a sense of community through creative expression.
